Getting Your KOSME KSB 6000 Back Up and Running Without the Headache
If you’ve spent any time maintaining a KOSME KSB 6000, you know the drill. You need heating lamps that hit the exact temperature you want, but they can’t be so aggressive that they blow a circuit or crack under the stress. It’s a balancing act. That’s why we built our replacement lamps to just… work. We focused on the electrical and physical footprint so they slide right into these machines—and honestly, about 95% of other blow molding gear out there too.
Let’s talk power
Here is the thing about PET preforms: they need to hit that glass transition temperature fast. If your voltage is off, you’re in trouble. Too low? Your plastic doesn’t heat enough, and suddenly you’re dealing with uneven wall thickness. Too high? You’ll burn through your filaments way faster than you should. We keep our tolerances tight so you don’t have to worry about those fluctuations. It’s about matching the original load exactly.
The build quality
We use high-purity quartz glass. Why? Because production lines are brutal. The constant jumping from freezing to scorching heat kills cheap glass. We also stuck with the standard R7s and SK15 connectors. You shouldn’t have to spend your afternoon modifying a lamp holder just to get a part to fit. You just slide it in, wire it up, and you’re done. Plus, if you want to stop wasting heat in the oven, we’ve got coated options that bounce that energy right back toward the preform.
A quick tip from the field
These are true drop-in replacements. As long as the wattage matches, you don’t need to spend hours recalibrating your oven. But a word of advice: check your reflectors. High-wattage shortwave lamps put a lot of pressure on them. If your reflectors are pitted or oxidized, a brand new lamp isn’t going to do much for you. Give them a good clean before you install the new tubes. You’ll save a lot of energy and get the output you’re actually paying for. And since we know waiting weeks for OEM parts is a nightmare, we keep these in bulk. No long lead times. Just the parts you need, when you need them.
