
Stop the Mold: Why Infrared is Better for Your Bathroom
Most bathroom heaters are just… heaters. They warm up the air, and that’s about it. But we do things a bit differently. We use infrared lamps that actually target the wet spots in your room, drying them out before mold even gets a chance to move in.
How it actually works
Here’s the thing: air heaters leave “dead zones”—those cold, damp corners where the air just sits still. That’s where the mold loves to hide. Our lamps don’t just warm the air; they send out waves that dive straight into the moisture on your tiles and grout. It shakes up the water molecules and forces them to evaporate way faster. By keeping those surfaces warm and dry, you’re basically making your bathroom a place where mold spores can’t survive.
The gear inside
We use high-purity quartz glass. Why? Because we don’t want anything blocking those heat waves before they hit your walls. These lamps pull a decent amount of power to get that “instant dry” effect, so just make sure your power supply can handle the initial kick when you flip the switch. You might notice the glass has a special coating. We did that so you aren’t blinded by a giant spotlight every time you take a shower. It makes the light softer on the eyes while keeping the heat focused where it belongs. It might take a few seconds longer to warm up, but the heat is much more consistent.
A few tips for setup
First off, make sure you’re wiring these into a circuit rated for moisture. Safety first. Also, these things get hot—really hot. We’ve designed the housing to expand and contract as the temperature shifts so you don’t end up with cracked fixtures. **One big warning:**Don’t touch the quartz tubes with your bare hands. I know it sounds weird, but the oils from your skin create “hot spots” on the glass. Those spots can cause the lamp to burn out way too early. If the tube starts looking cloudy, it’s either time for a new one or a quick wipe-down with some isopropyl alcohol to get it shining again.
